Setup Programs

Setup programs are used to define master data in SYSPRO.

They can be accessed from the Setup folders within the various SYSPRO modules in the Program List.

There is usually a Browse program for each Setup program listed in the Browse sub folders in the Program List. In this case, the corresponding Setup program can be accessed from within the Browse program. In a few cases, the Browse and Setup programs are combined into a single program.

Setup programs can be secured per operator group (see Security Access). In addition, if you enabled the option: Job logging required (Company Setup) then you can enable job logging selectively by module and program using the Groups program. This enables you to track changes made to master data using the Job Logging Query program.

A report of changes made to the key items listed below can be tracked using Amendment Journals. You indicate that amendment journals are required in the corresponding module setup programs.

  • EFT Beneficiaries (see Electronic Fund Transfer Setup)

  • Stock Codes (see Inventory Setup)

  • Bill of Material structures (see Bill of Materials Setup)

Toolbar and menu

The following standard options can be included in the Menu and/or Toolbar of a Setup type program:

  • Not all of these options may be available in each setup program. In addition, other options may be available and these are explained in the setup program itself.

  • View additional functions available by pressing Ctrl+F1 from within a form in the program (see Form functions for details).

Save Select this to save the details you entered or changed.
Save and Close Select this to save the details you entered or changed and to return to the previous screen.
Close Select this to return to the previous screen.
Edit  
New Select this to add a new item.
Delete Select this to delete the item currently displayed.
New Select this icon to add a new item.
Delete Select this icon to delete the item currently displayed.
Save Select this to save the details you entered or changed.
Prev Select this to navigate to the previous item, relative to the current item displayed.
Next Select this to navigate to the following item, relative to the current item displayed.
Browse Select this to access the Setup program's corresponding Browse program.
Play Select this to use the Multimedia program to view multimedia objects defined against the item.
Edit Select this to use the Multimedia program to define multimedia objects against the item.
Notepad Select this to use the Multimedia program to view and maintain free format text for the item.
