Delivery Load Query

You use this program to view load planning delivery load information in order to track the status of a delivery load or the order on a specific load.

A typical use of this program would be to track the status of a delivery load or to track the order on a specific load. This could be driven internally from your sales department, or externally in response to a customer request.

Loads can be queried provided you know the route code and the delivery load. You can locate loads using the browse icon at the Delivery Route or Delivery Load fields within the query.

This program can be run at any time.

There are no dependencies between this program and any other program.

If you are new to this query, then the following information will help you achieve the best results:

  • The information shown is always up to date (i.e. the query will reflect the latest information for loads captured or maintained).
  • You can personalize this query in a number of ways. These include:

    • configuring property sheets (e.g. the section headed Route Information). This includes being able to sequence items by dragging them up or down, to show important items first
    • configuring the Sales Order Lines listview. This includes being able to sequence columns by dragging them left or right, sorting columns and changing column widths
    • configuring the layout of the panes on the screen, including hiding or displaying panes

Field Description
Delivery Route Indicate the delivery route on which the delivery load you want to query is located.
Delivery load

Indicate the delivery load you want to query.

Delivery Route Notes Assign free format notes to the currently selected delivery route using the Admin Notepad Editor (Rich Text) program.

Route Information

Field Description
Next delivery sequence If more than one daily delivery is defined (i.e. Daily frequency > 1), then this indicates the sequence number to use when creating the next batch of route delivery details.
Delivery frequency This indicates the route frequency in days. For example, 7 indicates that the route is run every 7 days.
Number of deliveries per day This indicates the number of times a delivery can be made on this route in a single day.
Next delivery date This indicates the date on which the next load will be created for the route.
Limiting factor This indicates the limiting factor for the route. The limiting factor determines the capacity of the route and can be determined according to the maximum weight or volume or both defined against the loads on the route.
Total volume This indicates the maximum volume available for the loads on the route.
Total mass This indicates the maximum mass available for the loads on the route.
Transport This indicates the default transport type used on the route (see Browse on Load Transport).

Load Information

Field Description
Load details
  • Delivery date

    This indicates the date on which the load must be/was delivered.

  • Delivery sequence

    This indicates the delivery sequence for the load and indicates the sequence in which the load is to be delivered on the route.

  • Status

    This indicates the status of the load (see Load Statuses).

  • Load reference

    This indicates the load reference number.

  • Transport

    This indicates the transport type for the route/load combination (see Browse on Load Transport).

  • Driver

    This indicates the driver assigned to the transport. Driver codes are maintained using the Browse on Employees program.

Volume totals
  • Maximum volume

    This indicates the total volume which can be allocated on the load.

  • Volume used

    This indicates the cumulative volume currently allocated to the load. This value is increased/decreased for each sales order line added/removed respectively.

  • Volume % free

    This indicates the total volume that can still be allocated on the load shown as a percentage.

    This is calculated as the ((Maximum volume - Volume used) / Maximum volume) * 100.

Mass totals
  • Maximum mass

    This indicates the total mass which can be allocated on the load.

  • Mass used

    This indicates the cumulative mass currently allocated to the load. This value is increased/decreased for each sales order line added/removed respectively.

  • Mass % free

    This indicates the total mass that can still be allocated on the load shown as a percentage.

    This is calculated as the ((Maximum mass - Mass used) / Maximum mass) * 100

Sales Order Lines

This displays details of the sales order lines attached to the load.

Column Description
Sales order This indicates the sales order number.
Sales order line This indicates the line within the sales order.
Dispatch note This indicates the dispatch note number, if a dispatch note was created from the order and the Basis of calculating load capacity is set to Dispatch note quantity (Sales Orders Setup).
Dispatch note line This indicates the line within the Dispatch note.
Volume used

This indicates the volume for the order line for the load.

This is calculated as the unit volume of the item multiplied by the quantity shipped for the load (i.e. the quantity in the Quantity field of this listview).

Mass used

This indicates the mass for the order line for the load.

This is calculated as the unit mass of the item multiplied by the quantity shipped for the load (i.e. the quantity in the Quantity field of this listview).

Route sequence This indicates the route sequence for the load.
Customer This indicates the customer for the order.
Quantity

This indicates the quantity of the order line which is allocated to the load.

This is not necessarily the same as the ship quantity of the order line, as you could dispatch the ship quantity on more than one load.

Sales Order Line Details

The information displayed in this pane relates to the line currently highlighted in the Sales Order Lines listview.

Field Description
Order status This indicates the current status of the order (see Sales Order Status Codes).
Ship to address
  • Ship to name

    This indicates the name of the customer to whom the order must be shipped.

Inserting Application Help

You would typically follow this procedure to display help for the current program in a customized pane that can be pinned to the program window.

Information includes step-by-step instructions for the various functions available within the program, including a brief overview of what the program does, what setup options are required and how to personalize the program.

  1. Open the program for which you want to insert application help into a customized pane.

    This functionality is only available for a program that has panes.

  2. Right-click any form field.

    You can also click the triangle menu icon that appears in the title area of a pane.

  3. Select Insert Application Help from the context-sensitive menu.

    The application help appears in a pane within your program. You can reposition the pane using the docking stickers or pin it to the program window.

Removing the Application Help pane

If you no longer want to display application help in a pane for your current program, you can simply remove it.

  1. Select the Close icon in the right-hand corner of the application help pane.

  2. Confirm that you want to delete the pane.
