Recent Reports

You use this program to view a list of recently maintained reports for the current operator.

You can also use this program as an alternative interface to the Browse on Reports program to add, maintain and run existing reports.

If you previously deselected the option to retain a history of recent reports ( Report History Configuration), then when you select the Recent Reports program, the Browse on Reports program is automatically loaded.

Recent Reports

When this program is loaded for the first time, the word None is displayed in the list. Thereafter, when a report is added or viewed (even if it is not changed), the Recent Reports list is updated. However, the modified date might specify Unknown until the report has been updated and saved.

Field Description
Recent Report Name

This indicates the report description.

You can use your mouse to highlight the report description and then (typically) click the left mouse button to load the Browse on Reports program, enabling you to maintain the report.

Report This indicates the code for the report.
Modified This indicates when the report was added, viewed or modified.
Run Select this to print the report using the Report Writer program.
More Reports Select this to load the Browse on Reports program to view additional reports.
Create a new report

Select this to load the Report Wizard program to define a new report.

Before you can add reports, you need to use the Data Dictionary Import program to import the data dictionary into the Report Writer module. Refer to Report Writer Introduction for additional information about the Report Writer module.

Report History Configuration

The Configure option from the Options menu enables you to define the report history options you require.

These configuration options are user specific. i.e. They apply only to the operator who defined them.

Retain history of recent reports

Select this to keep a history of reports recently maintained.

This option defaults as being selected.

If you deselect this option, then when you next select the Recent Reports program, then the Browse on Reports program is automatically loaded.

From the Browse on Reports program, you can select the History Configuration option from the Options menu to display the Configuration options screen. You can then reselect to retain a history of recent receipts if required.

Number of reports to retain This indicates the number of reports for which you want to retain a history of changes.
Save Preferences

Select this to save the configuration options you selected.

The configuration options you selected are saved against your operator code.

Close Select this to return to the previous screen.

View recent reports

  • From the Report Writer menu, select the Recent Reports program.

    The reports you most recently added, viewed or modified are displayed according to the configuration options you set against your operator code.

Deselect to retain history of recent reports

  1. From the Recent Reports program, select the Configure option from the Options menu.

  2. Deselect the option: Retain history of recent reports.

  3. Select the Save Preferences function to confirm your selection.

Reselect to retain history of recent reports

  1. From the Browse on Reports program, select the History Configuration option from the Options menu.

  2. Select the option: Retain history of recent reports.

  3. Optionally change the number of reports for which you want to keep a history or accept the default of 4.

  4. Select the Save Preferences function to confirm your selection.

Clear history of recent reports

  1. From the Recent Reports program, select the Clear History option from the Options menu.

  2. From the Report History screen select OK to clear the report history.

  3. Select the Exit option from the File menu to exit the program.
