Discount Code Maintenance

You use this program to create and maintain purchase order discount codes which can be used when creating purchase order requisitions (Requisition Entry Maintenance).

These discount codes can be allocated to suppliers (Suppliers) as Line discount codes and/or Invoice discount codes. The discounts allocated against a supplier are then automatically calculated and applied to Purchase orders (Purchase Order Header Information) according to the percentages held against these discount codes.

Description This is used to describe the discount code in the previous field.
First discount percentage

Enter the first discount percentage to apply for this discount code.

You can enter up to three linked discounts to apply when the discount code is used.

The discount percentages you define are chained. For example if you enter 5, 2 and 1 in the First, Second and Thirddiscount percentage fields respectively, then the discount amount is calculated as the original amount less 5%, less 2%, less 1%.

For example, if the total amount for a requisition or purchase order line is 1000, then the line discount is calculated as 1000 less 5% = 950, less 2% = 931, less 1% = 921.69. So the net amount for the line will be 921.69.

[Note]

You can enter a negative percentage to apply a surcharge to the price. (i.e. the discount values calculated are added to the price).

Second discount percentage

You use this field to enter the second discount percentage to apply for this discount code.

This discount percentage is applied after the first discount percentage has been deducted.

Third discount percentage

You use this field to enter the third discount percentage to apply for this discount code.

This discount percentage is applied after the first and second discount percentages have been deducted.
