Inventory Journal Summary Zoom

You use this program to view information relating to inventory journals.

Inventory journals are created to record inventory transactions created in the Inventory Control, Work in Progress or Purchase Order modules.

Inventory Journal Summary Details

This pane displays header, journal details and General Ledger information for the journal.

Column Description
Journal number This indicates the journal number created for the transaction.
Journal date This indicates the date on which the transaction was processed.
Month number This indicates the period and year for which the transaction was processed.
Warehouse This indicates the warehouse in which the transaction was processed.
Operator This indicates the operator who processed the transaction for the journal.
Ledger codes This indicates the General Ledger control account codes to use when journals are created for transactions processed.

Inventory Journal Summary Entries

Field Description
Zoom Select this icon to use the Inventory Journal Zoom program to view additonal details for the selected line entry.

Show FIFO Journals Display the corresponding FIFO journal(s) for the line(s) currently displayed in the listview. Both FIFO and non-FIFO journals are displayed.
Show FIFO Journals Only Display only the corresponding FIFO journal(s) in the listview.

Listview

Details of the line entries for the selected journal are displayed in this listview.

Column Description
Entry This indicates the line number within the journal.
Stock code Indicates the code of the stock item. For Landed Cost Tracking items, the descriptions of the cost elements are listed beneath the stock code.
Transaction This indicates the transaction type - see Journal Entries.
Quantity This indicates the transaction quantity.
FIFO journal

This indicates whether a FIFO journal was created.

When you select to Show FIFO Journals, then 'Yes' is displayed in this column to indicate which line is the FIFO journal line.

Notes and warnings

Program access

  • You can access the Inventory Journal Summary Zoom program by selecting the View Journalsoption from the Movements listview of the Inventory Query program.

    Alternatively, you can use your left mouse button on an Inventory related transaction line in the Details listview of the GL Query program and select the Inventory Journal option.

Field considerations

Operator access to the following fields within this program can be restricted. You configure this using the Security Fields function of the Operators program.

Field Description
INV Show costs in purchase order receipts This option applies specifically to the Purchase Order Inspection, Purchase Order Receipts, and Inventory Journal Summary Zoom programs and enables you to control the following within these programs:
  • Suppress the display of Costs and prices.
  • Prevent the operator from changing the cost basis.
  • Prevent the operator from receipting an item which has a cost multiplier greater than 1 (the option to apply the cost multiplier is not displayed).
  • Suppress the price, order value, and outstanding value when the operator selects to zoom on purchase order lines.
  • Prevent the operator from printing the inventory journal for the receipt online.

Inserting Application Help

You would typically follow this procedure to display help for the current program in a customized pane that can be pinned to the program window.

Information includes step-by-step instructions for the various functions available within the program, including a brief overview of what the program does, what setup options are required and how to personalize the program.

  1. Open the program for which you want to insert application help into a customized pane.

    This functionality is only available for a program that has panes.

  2. Right-click any form field.

    You can also click the triangle menu icon that appears in the title area of a pane.

  3. Select Insert Application Help from the context-sensitive menu.

    The application help appears in a pane within your program. You can reposition the pane using the docking stickers or pin it to the program window.

Removing the Application Help pane

If you no longer want to display application help in a pane for your current program, you can simply remove it.

  1. Select the Close icon in the right-hand corner of the application help pane.

  2. Confirm that you want to delete the pane.
