You use this program to set up classifications for the different types of jobs that you typically process. This enables you to group or arrange your jobs according to similar characteristics (e.g. STD - Standard Jobs; RWK - Rework; URG - Urgently required).
The job class can be used in a number of ways within SYSPRO:
you can number your jobs according to the job classification assigned to the job.
you can assign a default job classification to your stock items so that any job created for an item is assigned the relevant job class.
once assigned to a job, the job classification can be used as a selection criterion when printing various reports.
Field | Description |
---|---|
Job classification | Indicate the job classification you want to create or maintain. The job class can be a combination of alpha and numeric characters. |
Job classification | This indicates the job classification you are currently maintaining. |
Description | Enter a description for the job class. |
Next job number prefix |
Indicate the characters that must be used to prefix all jobs that are created using this job classification. Although a maximum of 5 characters can be defined here, the total job number (i.e. prefix and suffix combined) cannot exceed 8 characters. This applies only if you are numbering your jobs by job classification and the job numbering key is defined as alpha (Set Key Information). |
Next job number suffix |
Indicate the job number that will be used for any newly-created job that is assigned this job classification. This applies only if you are numbering your jobs by job classification (Set Key Information). |
