Browse on SO Templates

You use this program to view details of Sales Order templates currently defined.

These templates are designed to save processing time when entering lines on a quote using the Quick Sales Order Entry program.

Toolbar and menu

Copy Select this to copy a template.
View  
General Template Select this to display all General templates currently defined.
Customer Template Select this to display all Customer templates currently defined.

Copy Template

This screen is displayed when you select the Copy option from the Edit menu. The options enable you to create a new template from an existing template.

Field Description
Copy Select this to copy the template. This create a new template.

Once copied, you use the SO Templates program to maintain the new template.
Template Indicate the existing template from which you want to create a copy.

Copy from template This indicates the template you are copying from.
Copy from description This indicates the description defined against the template you are copying from.
Inactive A tick in this column indicates that the template is inactive and cannot be used in the Quick Sales Order Entry program.
Copy to  
Copy to template Enter the code for the new template. This code must be unique and cannot be the code of an existing template.
Copy to template description Enter a description for the new template.
Inactive Select this if you do not want the new template to be available to use in the Quick Sales Order Entry program.

Listview columns

The Browse on SO Templates listview includes the following information:

Either the General or Customer templates are displayed according to your selection at the View menu.

Column Description
Template This indicates the code for the template.
Description This indicates the description for the template.
Inactive This indicates whether the template is inactive. A tick in this column indicates that the template is not available to use in the Quick Sales Order Entry program.

Notes and warnings

Restricted maintenance

  • You cannot maintain information displayed in this list view if access for this program is set to Browse only but access to the corresponding maintenance program is not allowed (see Security Access).

  • The Add, Change and Delete options are not enabled when the program is accessed from the SO Templates program.
