Counter Sales Query

You use this program to view all sales and receipts by cash drawer (and in total) since the last time the Counter Sales Purge program was run.

Toolbar and menu

Field Description
Include  
All cash drawers Select this to view details for all cash drawers.
Single cash drawer Select this to view details for a single cash drawer.

The system establishes whether any sales have been recorded for the drawer and whether the drawer is locked.

Currency

Indicate the currency for which to display the information.

This defaults to your local currency when the Foreign currency sales required option is not enabled (Accounts Receivable Setup).

Payment Summary

Payment summaries are also displayed for any cash discounts given (_DSC), invoice adjustments made (_ADJ), amounts placed on account (_ACT), and payments from deposits (_DEP).

Payments made in any other currency are totalled by currency code.

Column Description
Total sales This indicates the total amount of sales for the selected cash drawer(s).
Invoices This indicates the number of invoices issued for the selected cash drawer(s).
Deposits This indicates the total amount of deposits taken for the selected cash drawer(s).
Cash in/out This indicates the total amount of cash taken in and given out for the selected cash drawer(s).

Counter Sales Totals

Column Description
Gross amount.

This should equal the total sales plus deposits plus the cash in/out.

It is intended to indicate the total payments made through all cash drawers, less the cash float. Amounts placed on account, payments from deposits, adjustments, and cash discounts are also included in this total.

Payments This indicates the total number of payments taken for the selected cash drawer(s).
Commission

This indicates the total value of any commission to pay for credit card payments.

Note that this commission does not flow through to Cash Book or Accounts Receivable.

Net amount This indicates the total gross amount less commission.

Cash Drawer Information

Column Description
Cash drawer

This indicates the cash drawer for which the information is being displayed. All indicates that the information is being displayed for all cash drawers.

Description This indicates the description of the cash drawer and is only displayed when you select to view the information for a single cash drawer.
Number of users This indicates the number of users whose cash drawer is currently open.
Float This indicates the float allocated to the cash drawer and is only displayed when you select to view the information for a single cash drawer.
Status

This indicates the current status of the cash drawer and is only displayed when you select to view the information for a single cash drawer.

The status is set to Open the first time the drawer is used, and set to Closed when you run the Counter Sales Close program.

Payments by Payment Type

Column Description
Type This indicates the payment type used for the transaction.
Description This indicates the description defined against the payment type.
Gross amount

This indicates the gross amount for the payment type.

This should equal the total sales plus deposits plus the cash in/out for the payment type.

Payments This indicates the total number of payments taken for the payment type.
Commission This indicates the total value of any commission you will have to pay for credit card payments for the payment type.
Net amount This indicates the total gross amount less commission for the payment type.

Inserting Application Help

You would typically follow this procedure to display help for the current program in a customized pane that can be pinned to the program window.

Information includes step-by-step instructions for the various functions available within the program, including a brief overview of what the program does, what setup options are required and how to personalize the program.

  1. Open the program for which you want to insert application help into a customized pane.

    This functionality is only available for a program that has panes.

  2. Right-click any form field.

    You can also click the triangle menu icon that appears in the title area of a pane.

  3. Select Insert Application Help from the context-sensitive menu.

    The application help appears in a pane within your program. You can reposition the pane using the docking stickers or pin it to the program window.

Removing the Application Help pane

If you no longer want to display application help in a pane for your current program, you can simply remove it.

  1. Select the Close icon in the right-hand corner of the application help pane.

  2. Confirm that you want to delete the pane.
