Browse on Contacts

You use this program to view details of people who belong to the organizations with which you conduct business.

Notes and warnings

Coding considerations

  • The unique key or identifier is not the contact name, but the GUID.

The GUID being the unique identifier allows you to use the contact name across multiple companies, accounts and suppliers.

When duplicate contact names exist, and you browse on the contact name from another program (e.g. from Customers) the dotted line under a line in the listview indicates the contact found by the browse. Because the contact name is not unique, the program starts at the first contact on the list according to the listview sequence defined.

Restricted maintenance

  • You cannot maintain information displayed in this listview if access to the program is set to Browse only, but access to the corresponding maintenance program is not allowed (see Security Access).
