e.net License Apportionment
Exploring
This program lets you configure and apportion your e.net Solutions licensing system-wide.
Things you can do in this program include:
- Configure e.net Solutions licenses
- Apportion functional area licenses against operators that require access to Business Objects
Starting
-
Ensure to import your license file using the License Manager, prior to running this program.
You can restrict operator access to programs by assigning them to groups and applying access control against the group (configured using the Operator Groups program).
-
You can't sort data within the listviews of this program.
Solving
To update or renew your SYSPRO license, run the Company Setup program from the SYSPRO login dialog (before logging into SYSPRO) and select the License Manager option from the toolbar.
If this is the first time you are accessing the License Manager program, a system message is displayed advising that a license doesn't exist in the AdmSystemLicense table of the system-wide database.
Select OK to proceed, then locate and select the appropriate License.xml file.
The program then displays any existing license details under the Current values column and the newly selected license details under the New values column.
Select one of the following options from the toolbar (depending on your requirements) to apply the new license:
- Apply to All Companies
- Apply to Selected Companies
For any subsequent run of the License Manager program, the existing license details are displayed under the Current values column.
To select a new License.xml file, use the Select New License function.
After selecting the applicable license file, the program prompts you to update your IMPACT.INI and apply the license to all companies.
You can select to proceed, or decline the prompt in order to return to the main screen. The program then displays the existing license details under the Current values column and the newly selected license details under the New values column.
You can then use one of the toolbar functions to apply the license as per your requirements.
You can create an operator code starting with a double underscore, but you won't be able to log into SYSPRO using this operator. If you attempt to log in to SYSPRO using a service operator, i.e. an operator code that starts with a double underscore, the following message will be displayed:
You won't be able to invoke any processing within e.Net when logging in as a service operator, as we intentionally don't include service operators in the e.net License Apportionment program. For this reason you won't be able to allocate e.Net licenses to service operators.
Service operators are created by SYSPRO and are used by SYSPRO services to obtain information about SYSPRO.
The service operator code starts with a double underscore to differentiate them from other operators. A default company code must be assigned to each service operator within the Operator Maintenance program, as we use the company code to log in the service operator via e.net .
The following is a list of service operators and their function within SYSPRO:
-
The __ADSYNC service operator is used by the SYSPRO 8 Active Directory Sync Service to push Microsoft Active Directory (AD) information into SYSPRO for Active Directory managed operators.
-
The __DFM service operator is used by the SYSPRO 8 Document Flow Manager Folder Poller and SYSPRO 8 Document Flow Manager Queue Poller to monitor folders, send files to the queue and process files.
-
The __ESP service operator is used by the following services:
-
SYSPRO 8 Espresso Service,
-
SYSPRO 8 Espresso Notification Service,
-
SYSPRO Espresso Development Plugin and the
- SYSPRO Avanti Web Service to obtain information for the password reset and forgot password functionality.
-
-
The __POS service operator is used by the SYSPRO 8 Point of Sale Services to determine and validate the setup options and required credentials at start up, update the required databases and post to SYSPRO (if the Point of Sale operator doesn't have access to SYSPRO).
-
The __RUL service operator is used by the SYSPRO 8 Rules Engine Service and the SYSPRO 8 Rules Data Service.
-
The __SA service operator is used by the SYSPRO 8 Analytics service to make business object calls.
-
The __SAI service operator is used by the SYSPRO 8 Machine Learning service.
-
The __SRS service operator is used by the SYSPRO 8 Reporting Host Service and the SYSPRO 8 Cognitive Service to manage client-side report printing.
-
Only specific services use service operators to log in via e.net.
-
SYSPRO creates service operators by copying the ADMIN operator. If the ADMIN operator record doesn't exist (i.e. it may have been deleted), then the current operator is used when saving system details from the Setup Options program.
Using
-
We recommend that you re-import the new e.net Solutions license whenever updating your company's SYSPRO license.
