Asset code Select this to print the report in asset code sequence. If you select this sequence, then the report can only be generated in Detail.
Group within location Select this to print the report by asset Location, with asset Group sub totals within each location.
Ledger code within location Select this to print the report by asset Location, with Ledger code sub totals within each location.

The Ledger code refers to the general ledger code defined against the asset for book value depreciation purposes (Assets).

Asset group Select this to print the report in asset group sequence.

Totals are printed for each asset group.

Report type
Detail Select this to print a report listing information held against each individual asset selected.

This is the default selection when your report sequence is Asset code, and cannot be changed.

Summary

Select this to print a report listing the asset group or ledger code of each asset selected.

You cannot access the List sub-assets under master option if you select to print a summary report.

List sub-assets under master

Select this to print sub assets directly under the associated master asset codes. Total values for the master and sub assets are printed.

If you do not select this option, then master and sub assets are highlighted, but no totals are printed.

You cannot select this option if you indicated that Sub-assets are not allowed (Assets Setup) or you selected Report type - Detail.

Report option Indicate the basis on which the depreciation amounts must be based for the report.
Historical Select this to base the depreciation on the current book value (Asset Acquisition).

If the asset was not revalued, then the book value is the original cost. If the asset was revalued, the book value is the revalued cost.

[Note]

If a residual value is defined against the asset and the option: Exclude BV residual from depreciation calc (Assets Setup) is selected, then the residual book value is deducted from the cost of the asset before calculating the book value depreciation.

Original book value

Select this to base the depreciation on the original Cost /value (Assets) and the original depreciation Start date defined for each asset (Assets).

Your selection at the Suspend depreciation option is ignored (Asset Acquisition).

[Note]

If a residual value is defined against the Book value of the asset (Assets) and the option: Exclude residual from depreciation for - Book value (Assets Setup) is selected, then the residual book value is deducted from the cost of the asset before calculating the book value depreciation.

Alternate value 1 - 3 These options enable you to select an alternate valuation depreciation book on which to base the report. The report is based on the cost for the selected alternate valuation depreciation book as defined against each asset (Asset Acquisition).
[Note]

If the option Exclude residual from depreciation for - the selected alternate valuation book (Assets Setup) is selected, then residual values defined against assets in the selected alternate valuation book (Assets) are deducted from the costs of the assets before calculating the alternate value depreciation.

Report Details

  • The difference between the Gross cost - Closing Balance and the Depreciation reserves - Closing balance is the Net Asset Value as at the period selected.

  • This report includes the depreciation estimated for the current period. The Asset Full Enquiry Listing report does not include the depreciation estimated for the current period. The Asset Movement Schedule and Asset Full Enquiry Listing reports therefore only reflect the same balances after the Asset Depreciation Calculation is run in Update mode for the current period.

    See also Coding considerations.

  • When partial disposals were processed, the asset value will print on the Disposals/Transfers column.

Notes and warnings

Restrictions and limits

  • You cannot generate this report in Ledger code sequence if Sub-assets are allowed (Assets Setup).

Coding considerations

  • The Opening balance Depreciation reserves will not equal the previous year's Closing balance Depreciation reserves if any accumulated depreciation adjustments were processed using the Asset Depreciation Adjustment or Asset Depreciation Adjustment Recalc programs. This does not apply to current year depreciation adjustments.

Depreciation adjustment values (for accumulated depreciation) from the Asset Depreciation Adjustment and Asset Depreciation Adjustment Recalc programs update the Opening balance. The difference between the Opening balance and Closing balance will therefore be the value of these adjustments.

If you have not used the Asset Depreciation Adjustment or Asset Depreciation Adjustment Recalc programs to adjust accumulated depreciation, then the Opening balance Depreciation reserves for the current year will equal the previous year's Closing balance Depreciation reserves.
