Low Level Code Calculation

You use this program to recalculate the low level code for each bill of material structure. You would typically use this program if you did not select to validate structure levels when purging structures using the Structure Validation program.

Processing sequence

  1. The program validates the number of components attached to a parent part.

The count held against each parent part indicates the number of components attached to the parent part. This count must be maintained for the Bill of Materials system to function correctly.

  2. The program recalculates the low level code for each structure for the selected route and updates the inventory master record. This numbering is recursive down to a maximum of 15 levels.

    Item Level code
    Parent 0
    Sub-assembly 1
    Component 2
  3. The program checks for more than 15 levels against route 0. A message is displayed if more than 15 levels are encountered.
