You use this program to generate a report showing a horizontal representation of how the structure and routings of operations flow through the work centers.
It is an essential report for planning, scheduling and purchasing and for the manufacture of sub-assemblies, assemblies and the final assembly.
Measured in lead time days, the report enables schedulers to see the complete picture. It indicates the longest lead time, cumulative lead time, purchasing lead time, manufacturing lead time and assembly lead time, as well as the relationship between them.
By tracking information about the work flow in work centers, this report also assists in loading work onto work centers and sequencing work flow loadings.
Field | Description | ||||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Stock code selection | |||||||
Stock code | Indicate the stock item for which to generate the
report. This must be a made-in item, a phantom part, a notional part, a co-product or a subcontract item. |
||||||
Rev/Rel | Indicate the revision and release of the parent
Stock code for which to generate the
profile. This is only relevant when the Stock code is ECC controlled (Stock Codes). |
||||||
Routing | Indicate the route to use for the Stock
code. This is the routing configured in the Structures and Routings program and is only relevant when the option: Alternate routings is enabled (Bill of Materials Setup). |
||||||
Qty to make | Indicate the quantity of the parent Stock code you want to make. | ||||||
Options | |||||||
Chart type | Select this to output the report calculation results in
a bar style graph on the report.
|
||||||
Show supplier lead time | Select this to list the supplier lead times on the report and to indicate the supplier lead times on the Bar chart graph. | ||||||
Show phantom parts | Select this to print phantom parts on the report. |
These options enable you to apply a theme to the report and to define multiple output destinations for the report once it has been compiled (SRS Output Options).
The report generates a graphical representation of the results as well as a list of the results.
When soft phantoms exist as components, the soft phantoms' operations and manufacturing lead time are excluded from the scheduling.
When phantom parts are excluded from the report, then soft phantoms are also excluded.
If an item is defined as bought-out at warehouse level (Inventory Warehouse Maintenance for Stock Code) then the supplier and lead time defined against the Warehouse to use of the component is used instead of the values held against the stock code. The item will always be bought-out in the specified warehouse.
A Crystal reporting limitation prevents a graph from spanning more than one page. The graph may, therefore, be unusable when it is generated for a complex Bill of Materials with many components.
You can use the BOM Scheduling Profile query program instead, as it renders the same results as the Scheduling Profile, and you can print the schedule Gantt chart over multiple pages.
