Customer Stock Codes

You use this program to create a link between a customer's stock code and a valid SYSPRO stock code held on file.

Upon entering the customer's stock code during processing within the Sales Order Entry, Quotations and Customer Stock Code X-Ref for a Stock Code programs, the system automatically extracts the SYSPRO stock code.

Toolbar and menu

Field Description
Change
Change to Master

This displays the customer code/SYSPRO stock code entries for the master account if you are viewing cross reference entries for a sub-account and the invoices for the sub-account are attached to the master account.

Options This is not available in a C-ISAM environment.
Show all records Enable this to display all customer stock code cross references in the listview. Note that the listview could take some time to load if you have thousands of cross references. You will be prompted to continue after each 8000 records displayed.

This preference applies to the current run of the program only. When the program is reloaded, this option is set to disabled.

Record limit

Indicate the number of cross references to display in the listview. The minimum is 20 rows.

The recommended maximum page size is 8000 rows. Displaying more than this could affect performance in loading the listview.

This preference is saved in the ADMLFS.DAT file in the ..\BASE\SETTINGS folder and the program will therefore default to the number of rows indicated, each time it is loaded.
Show all stock codes Enable this to display all customer stock code interchange records. This is only available when Maintain global interchanges is enabled.
Maintain global interchanges Applies the stock codes entered to all your customers (e.g. all your customers have a stock code A1 and you want to link this code to your SYSPRO stock code B1).

Indicate the SYSPRO stock code that must reference the customer's stock code if you are maintaining global interchanges.

Indicate the customer for whom to enter stock code interchange information if you are not maintaining global interchanges.

AR Customer Stock Code Maintenance

You use this editable listview to enter and maintain the details of the customer/SYSPRO stock code links. Only the stock codes selected in the Options pane are displayed.

Field Description
Customer stock code

Enter the customer's stock code that must be linked to a SYSPRO stock code.

The Customer stock code must be unique.

You can link two different customer stock codes to a single SYSPRO stock code, because the customer may have changed stock codes, but could still have both stock codes in existence in different locations.

Customer stock codes are saved against sales order lines regardless of whether the SYSPRO stock code or customer stock code is entered. The customer stock codes can also be printed on order documents.

Stock code

Indicate a valid SYSPRO stock code to reference the customer's stock code entered.

Description This indicates the description defined against the SYSPRO stock code.
Customer stock code description Enter the description for the Customer stock code.
Customer stock code long description

Enter a long description for the customer stock code.

This is typically used for the description of a customized stock code, which can be printed on an invoice.

Notes and warnings

Restrictions and limitations

  • You can only assign a stock code interchange to a customer if the Stock code interchange required option is enabled for the customer (Customers).

  • The stock code entered during global interchange maintenance cannot be defined as a Kit type S or K if you want to use the item in a blanket sales order and the Single level Bill of Materials required option is enabled (Sales Orders Setup).

  • You cannot link one customer stock code to multiple SYSPRO stock codes. You can, however, link multiple customer stock codes to a single SYSPRO stock code.

Master Sub-account considerations

  • If you are using master and sub-accounts then you need to define the cross references according to your selection at the Customer stock codes for sub-account setup option.

    Value Description
Only customer The cross references you require for sales orders for sub-accounts must be defined against each sub-account.
Only master All cross references you require for sales orders for sub-accounts must be defined against each master account. The cross references can then be used for the sub-accounts attached to that master account.
Customer, then master Cross references you require for sales orders for a sub-account can be defined either against the master or the sub-account.

Search considerations

  • When searching on customer stock codes and entering only part of the stock code, only the records that match the characters entered are returned.
