Program: WIP Quality Inspection Print

This program is used to generate and print Certificate of Conformance (CoC) and Finished Goods Inspection Reports (FGIR) for Work in Progress finished goods inspections.

Things you can do in this program include:

  • Generate and print the documents by selecting the document type (CoC, FGIR) and applying the required selection criteria.

This program is accessed from the Program List of the Syspro menu:

    Program List > Quality Management > Documents

This certifies that finished goods meet specified standards, regulations, or customer requirements.

The CoC's number will be generated using the following pattern: InspectType + InspectNumber + Lot + EndDate.

Records detailed inspection results for completed products (Jobs and Purchase Order Receipts). This can be printed as a standalone document or alongside the Certificate of Conformance (CoC).

This is a supporting document and can be printed additionally. The option exist to either print the CoC or FGIR.

Starting

Ensure Quality Management is available and stock codes are configured as QM inspection required.

  • To use this feature, the following setup option(s) must be enabled/defined:

    Program List > Inventory > Setup - Tracking pane:

    • Quality management

      • QM inspection required

    • Lot traceability control

      • Lot traceability

        This must be defined as Inspection required.

      • Traceable

        This must be defined as With inspection.

      • Allow issues from multiple lots

  • Document formats are defined for the required WIP document types (Certificate of Conformance, Finished Goods Inspection Report).

  • Inspections are complete, as both Certificate of Conformance and Finished Goods Inspection Report can only be printed once the inspections are completed.

  • WIP Quality Inspection Print prints the Certificate of Conformance and Finished Goods Inspection Report document type(s) only.

  • Printing of the reports are inspection completion-dependent.

  • The output content being printed is controlled by the test design. Only test results flagged to be included in the reports are included. Test results can be flagged to be included using the Inspection Test Design program.

Solving

The reports are only generated when the underlying inspection is complete. If the inspection is not finished, the document(s) cannot be produced because the output is built from the final inspection results.

Other possible reasons are:

  • The inspection is not complete. Confirm that the inspection reference you select has a completed status.

  • Your selection criteria does not return a completed inspection reference.

  • The required document format has not been defined, therefore you are unable to produce the expected output. Document formats are defined in Quality Document Format for each document type.

  • You are running Alignment instead of printing the document. Alignment prints text characters to verify stationery alignment. It does not produce the actual reports.

Only the test results flagged for including in the reports are included.

Configure Inspection Test Design

  • In Inspection Test Design (Program List > Quality Management > Setup), specify which inspection test captions and results must be included on each document type by selecting the applicable Include in certificate options.

  • Capture regulatory standards where required.

Using

The WIP Quality Inspection Print process is as follows:

All inspections must be finished prior to printing the reports.

  • Indicate under Document Type which report you want to print:

    • WIP Finished Goods (FGIR)

      • This report can only be printed when all inspections have been finished.

      • It will only include the test results selected for WIP Finished Goods printing from the Include in certificate field in Inspection Test Design (Program List > Quality Management > Setup)

      • The report will use the Unique Product Identifier pattern of StockCode+Serial/Lot.

    • Certificate of Conformance

      • This report can only be printed when all inspections have been finished.

      • It will only include the test results selected for WIP Finished Goods printing from the Include in certificate field in Inspection Test Design (Program List > Quality Management > Setup)

      • The certificate number is generated using the pattern of InspectType+InspectNumber+Lot+EndDate.

    • Apply the required selection criteria.

    • Use the Alignment option to verify certificate alignment before printing the final document.

    • Select Print to generate the document output.

Referencing

This outputs the data to a printer destination of your choice.

This lets you print a document using test characters to verify that the print positions and fields you defined are correctly aligned on your stationery.

We recommend printing the alignment to the actual printer you'll be using to print your documents.

Field Description

Documents

Select either Certificate of Conformance or Finished Goods Inspection Report document type to print.

Indicates the document format applied when printing the selected document type.

Document formats must be configured in Quality Document Format (Program List > Quality Management > Documents )
Options

Select this option if it is a Reprint of an existing document.
WIP inspection references

Indicates how you want to select the WIP inspection(s) to include in the report.

  • All - Select this to include all items from the selection in the report.

  • Range - Select this to include a range of items, using the From and To fields.

  • Single - Select this to include a single item from the selection.

  • List - Select this to include a list of items that you add to the selection list.

Stock codes

Indicates how you want to select the stock codes to include in the report.

  • All - Select this to include all items from the selection in the report.

  • Range - Select this to include a range of items, using the From and To fields.

  • Single - Select this to include a single item from the selection.

  • List - Select this to include a list of items that you add to the selection list.

Jobs

Indicates how you want to select the Jobs to include in the report.

  • All - Select this to include all items from the selection in the report.

  • Range - Select this to include a range of items, using the From and To fields.

  • Single - Select this to include a single item from the selection.

  • List - Select this to include a list of items that you add to the selection list.

Lots

Indicates how you want to select the Lots to include in the report.

  • All - Select this to include all items from the selection in the report.

  • Range - Select this to include a range of items, using the From and To fields.

  • Single - Select this to include a single item from the selection.

  • List - Select this to include a list of items that you add to the selection list.

Serials

Indicates how you want to select the Serials to include in the report.

  • All - Select this to include all items from the selection in the report.

  • Range - Select this to include a range of items, using the From and To fields.

  • Single - Select this to include a single item from the selection.

  • List - Select this to include a list of items that you add to the selection list.

Product class

Indicates how you want to select the Product class to include in the report.

  • All - Select this to include all items from the selection in the report.

  • Range - Select this to include a range of items, using the From and To fields.

  • Single - Select this to include a single item from the selection.
