Price/Cost Percentage Change Criteria

Field Description

Change function

Percentage based on

When the Percentage based on is set to Cost then a negative percentage can be used. For all other selections, you need to use the Increase/decrease options to change the price/cost.

The option you select here determines which other criteria are made available in this pane.

This field is disabled when using the pricing engine, i.e. when the Pricing method setup option is defined as Price groups (Setup Options > Configuration > Distribution > Sales Orders), as this not catered for in the Price List Review program.

Rounding method options

Rounding method

No. of decimals

Select the number of decimals required for rounding. An entry of 0 (zero) indicates that you want the new price to be rounded to a whole integer, while entries of 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 indicate the decimal to which you want the new prices/costs to be rounded.

Value

Indicate the specific value according to which you want the new prices/costs to be rounded.

Print options

List changes on printer

Select this to print a list of all stock codes that were changed during processing within the current run of the program.

You can print an audit trail of any changes made to either the price of stocked items or the pricing basis of stocked items using the Inventory Price History program.

Print prices without updating

Select this to view the effect of the price changes you entered without actually updating the prices.

When you select this option, the option: List prices on printer is automatically selected and a report of your intended changes is produced.

If, after you have checked the report, you are satisfied with the results, you can re-enter the changes and update the prices.

Percentage information

Percentage change

Indicate the percentage by which the price held against prices codes must change.

If you selected Percentage based on - Another price code, then an entry of 0.00 here, enables you to copy a price code without changing the actual price.

If you selected Percentage based on - Cost, then an entry of 0.00 here enables you to make the price equal to the unit cost.

Increase/decrease

Indicate whether to increase or decrease the price.

Increase

Select this to increase prices by the percentage specified.

Decrease

Select this to decrease the price by the percentage specified.

Price/Cost Percentage Change Review

This pane displays the results of the processing function you selected once processing is complete (unless you selected the option to close the application from the After processing completed section).

Hint and tips

  • You can use the Inventory Price History program to print an audit trail of changes made using this program.

Notes and warnings

Restrictions and limits

  • This program ignores any items that use Actual costing (Inventory Setup) when processing a cost change or when processing a price change based on cost.

  • When the Percentage based on option is set to Cost or Inventory cost, then all warehouses with a costing method of FIFO or LIFO are ignored (Inventory Setup or Warehouses). Items in warehouses using FIFO or LIFO costing are therefore not updated.

Electronic Signatures provide security access, transaction logging and event triggering. This enables you to increase control over your system changes.
