Inspection Test Review

This program displays all inspection tests that were designed using the Inspection Test Design program.

The inspection tests are saved in the SqmTestHeader table.

This program is accessed from the Program List of the SYSPRO menu:

  • Program List > Quality Management > Processing

The acceptance quality limit is the level of defect that the business can accept in its product.

AQL sampling helps a business determine whether to accept or reject an order based on the number of defects found in the sample size. Every business needs to decide what the critical, major and minor defects are on its components, and what level of defects it can accept in its processes.

You can specify the accept / reject quantity for critical, major and minor defects within the Acceptance Quality Limit program.

The inspection test, also called inspection level test, is the test for the actual inspection of an individual item. Inspection tests are assigned to the sample test, which includes all inspection tests of the item. Once all individual inspection tests are done, the sample test is complete.

The test data, status and results of the individual inspection level tests are saved within the SqmIndTest table.

This encompasses the entire inspection that is performed on a purchase order or job that is received into inspection.

The inspection data, status and the results are saved within the SqmInspect table.

The sample test consist of one or more inspection tests, depending on the number of items that will be inspected, i.e. depending on the size of the sample taken from the entire batch that is received into inspection. A sample test is created for each item that is inspected and actual inspection tests of individual items are assigned to the sample test.

The test data, status and results are saved within the SqmTestStatus table.

Traceability refers to the ability of an organization to verify the history, location, or application of an item based on documented identification records.

Traceability is required in certain industries for a number of reasons:

  • Stock control

  • Asset control

  • Order tracking

  • Food Recall (e.g. being able to trace and account for every unsafe food item suspected of contamination; ranging from items still in the warehouse to those dispatched to customers).

WIP is an abbreviation used for work in process, work in progress, goods in process, or in-process inventory which are a company's partially finished goods waiting for completion and eventual sale. These items are either just being fabricated or waiting for further processing in a queue or buffer storage.

Starting

You can restrict operator access to programs by assigning them to groups and applying access control against the group (configured using the Operator Groups program).

The following configuration options in SYSPRO may affect processing within this program or feature, including whether certain fields and options are accessible.

To use this feature, the following setup option(s) must be enabled/defined:

Program List > Inventory > Setup - Tracking pane:

  • Quality management

    • QM inspection required

  • Lot traceability control

    • Lot traceability

      This must be defined as Inspection required.

    • Traceable

      This must be defined as With inspection.

    • Allow issues from multiple lots

Solving

You design the inspection test using the Inspection Test Design program.

  1. Enter the test name.

  2. Select the Design test form button to add all the fields that you want to display on the form and for which the inspector will record the results as they inspect the product.

    1. The left-hand side is a preview of the test form.

    2. Enter a description for the field at the Caption field, select a type and appearance detail, then click on Add field.

    3. The field will be displayed in the preview (i.e. left-hand side of the window).

    4. Save your changes once you have added all the fields.

      You will return to the Inspection Test Design window.

  3. In the Inspection Test Design window you can select each field and apply the field metrics, such as the field inspection level, whether validation is required and the tolerances allowed.

  1. Access the Acceptance Quality Limit program.

  2. Select the inspection level and plan type.

  3. Select the stock code for which you want to create the inspection test(s).

  4. Select the AQL level you want to apply to the inspection, e.g. critical, major or minor and enter the relevant values.

Using

  • Columns in a listview are sometimes hidden by default. You can reinstate them using the Field Chooser option from the context-sensitive menu (displayed by right-clicking a header column header in the listview). Select and drag the required column to a position in the listview header.

  • Press Ctrl+F1 within a listview or form to view a complete list of functions available.

Referencing

This displays data according to the selection criteria indicated. The function is enabled when you first load the program and then by selecting the Change Criteria option.

This lets you change the currently configured review criteria.

This lets you select the inspection tests you want to include in the listview.

Test versions

This lets you select specific versions of an inspection test you want to include in the listview.

This lets you capture a new data record.

This lets you change details for the currently highlighted record.

This deletes the highlighted data record.

Test name

This indicates the name of the inspection test.

Test version

This indicates the version of the inspection test.

Critical required

Yes indicates that the test is for critical defects within the product.

Major required

Yes indicates that the test is for major defects within the product.

Minor required

Yes indicates that the test is for minor defects within the product.
