Exploring

This program lets you capture text for selected key fields within SYSPRO (e.g. customers, suppliers, ledger codes, sales orders, lots, etc).

  • This program cannot be run standalone. It is accessed from functions in various SYSPRO programs.

Starting

You can restrict operator access to programs by assigning them to groups and applying access control against the group (configured using the Operator Groups program).

  • The Notepad program is located within the Module: System Admin & Shared Programs group of the Security Access pane.

    Regardless of whether access is denied to the program, the operator can still view the notes held against a key field.

  • A maximum of 500 lines of text can be saved.

Solving

This message is displayed if you exceed the limit of 500 lines allowed by the application.

Select Cancel to return to the text entry window so that you can review the content, or select OK to delete the extra lines.

Referencing

This saves your changes and exits the window.

This clears the window of all content.

Ctrl+P sends the notes to a connected printer.

Ctrl+X removes the highlighted text from the window.

Ctrl+C copies the currently highlighted text to the clipboard.

Ctrl+V pastes the most recent text that was copied to the clipboard.

Ctrl+Z reverts your last typing while Ctrl+Y repeats your last typing.

Ctrl+Shift+D inserts the current date and operator name into the text.

The system date is inserted, regardless of whether you have defined a temporary company date.
