Repair System Data

SYSPRO has enhanced its capabilities to allow you to manually synchronize files and tables that may be corrupt. The Repair System Data utility runs various update facilities to refresh system information in Microsoft SQL Server. You do not require an e.net license to use this utility and you can select a number of items to be imported into the database, including:

  • Programs

  • eSignature transactions

  • Activities and fields

  • Custom programs and eSignature transactions

  • Data dictionary

The Repair System Data utility also provides the option to rebuild eSignature transactions (i.e., recreate the IMPTRN.TXT file).

Exploring

This program is accessed from the Program List of the SYSPRO menu:

  • Program List > Utilities

A data dictionary refers to the repository that defines certain data structures. It contains all of the tables, columns and logical links, keys and comments between the structures.

Starting

You can restrict operator access to programs by assigning them to groups and applying access control against the group (configured using the Operator Groups program).

You can restrict operator access to programs by assigning them to roles and applying access control against the role (configured using the Role Management program).

Solving

The Include custom option can only be selected when one or both of the following options is selected: Programs and/or eSignatures.

The Include custom option is not applicable to the Data Dictionary or Rebuild eSignature transactions options.

Referencing

This processes the selected criteria, thereby synchronizing the relevant files and tables. The function is enabled by making a selection from the available options.

Field Description

Programs

This allows you to import programs.

eSignatures

This allows you to import eSignature transactions.

Activities and Fields

This allows you to import activities and fields.

Include custom

This allows you to import custom programs and/or eSignatures. This will apply to the selected options, excluding the data dictionary.

Enabling this option will import all custom programs and/or eSignatures from the same batch. To import, for example, only custom programs, run the utility separately for each option. Custom activities and fields are not supported.

Data Dictionary

This re-imports the data dictionary, as well as any custom data dictionaries.

Rebuild eSignature transactions

This forces the re-creation of IMPTRN.TXT file.
