SO Picking Options

This program lets you decide how you want to pick stock items in the destination or dispatch warehouse.

This is the process of finding and extracting products from a warehouse bin to fulfill customer sales orders.

This is a report that details the items required for picking and where to locate them.

A picking slip can only be printed once a pick has been created. Thereafter, you can print the pick slip at any time until it is complete.

This is a bin transfer movement type that applies when you complete a pick. The quantity picked is transferred from the sales order bin to the destination bin.

Starting

You restrict operator access to activities within a program using the Operator Maintenance program.

You can restrict operator access to the fields within a program (configured using the Operator Maintenance program).

You can restrict access to the eSignature transactions within a program at operator, group, role or company level (configured using the Electronic Signature Configuration Setup program). Electronic Signatures provide security access, transaction logging and event triggering that gives you greater control over your system changes.

You can restrict operator access to programs by assigning them to groups and applying access control against the group (configured using the Operator Groups program).

You can restrict operator access to functions within a program using passwords (configured using the Password Definition program). When defined, the password must be entered before you can access the function.

The following configuration options in SYSPRO may affect processing within this program or feature, including whether certain fields and options are accessible.

The Setup Options program lets you configure how SYSPRO behaves across all modules. These settings can affect processing within this program.

Solving

You can't add sales order lines to a pick that is in a status of Complete (i.e. picks can't be maintained once they've been completed).

This error is displayed if you attempt to add a sales order line to an already completed pick using either of the following programs:

  • Pick Review
  • Sales Order Entry

Select OK and add the sales order lines to a pick that has an Outstanding or Started status.

Your system is not configured to use the Fixed bins facility.

You need to enable the Fixed bins setup option (Setup Options > Configuration > Distribution > Inventory).

Using

  • At the time of releasing sales order lines for picking, you can use the Pick Review program to include the sales order lines in a pick.

This ignores any information you entered and returns to the previous screen.

Confirm

This saves the picking details you entered and returns you to the calling program.
Field Description

Option selection

This lets you select how to proceed with the picking process.

This lets you release the sales order lines for picking, but doesn't include them in a pick.

You can include them in a pick using the Pick Review program.

This lets you create a new pick for the sales order lines.

Once the pick is created, you can maintain the pick using the Pick Maintenance program.

This lets you add sales order lines to an existing pick, which you can select at the Pick field.

Pick

This lets you select the pick to which you want to add the sales order lines.

This field only applies if you selected Add to a pick against the Option selection field.

Destination

The fields in this section are only available when creating a new pick.

Destination bin

This lets you select a destination bin (i.e. the bin from which the stock is dispatched) using the Browse on Warehouse Bins program.

This bin is used in the pick movement (i.e. a bin transfer from the sales order bin to the destination bin) when you complete the pick.

Destination warehouse

This displays the destination warehouse from where the stock is dispatched.

The destination warehouse is displayed once the destination bin is selected.

Picking sequence

This lets you indicate the order in which the picking occurs in the warehouse:

This lets you choose the bin as a picking sequence, which is typically used if the picker needs to go to various bins to retrieve the stock items.

This instructs the picker to use the postman walk sequence to pick items in the warehouse.

This instructs the picker to use the Z pick sequence to pick the stock items in the warehouse.

The Postman walk sequence number and Z pick sequence numbers are maintained in the Warehouse Bins program.

Print the picking slip

This lets you print the picking slip for the picker to use in determining which products and quantities must be picked.

Create mission and tasks

This lets you create a mission with the associated task(s) for this sales order pick.

This field is only available if the setup option is enabled.

This indicates the sales order number for which the sales order pick is created.

Sales order line

This indicates the line on the sales order for which the sales order pick is created.
