Role Activities and Fields Maintenance

You use this program to configure access to activities and fields for an operator role. The settings can then be applied to all operators assigned to the role.

If you have not implemented roles, then you can assign access restrictions to individual operators using the Operators program.

Close	This returns you to the previous screen.
Configuration
Copy From Another Configuration	Copies the Activities and fields settings from another operator or role to the currently displayed role. You can also copy settings from a role in a different company, provided you enabled the Access control by company within role global configuration option (Roles). A blank entry in the Company column indicates that role is defined in the current company. The Type column indicates either an operator or an operator role.
Role	Indicates the role for which you want to maintain access to activities and fields.
Organogram	Loads the Role Organogram Maintenance program to view and manipulate the hierarchy of roles for your organization.

Security

Field	Description
Activities	These options enable you to configure access control to specific activities.
Activity selection	Indicate the level of security required for activities.
Configure activities	This is enabled when you set the Activity selection to List. The list of Security Activities is displayed, enabling you to configure the level of access the role has to activities within SYSPRO. You can highlight multiple activities using your mouse together with the Ctrl or Shift keys in the Activities list view. Right click to display additional options. Option Description Allow Access Allows access to the highlighted activity. Deny Access Denies access to the highlighted activity. Copy to Other Roles Copies the Allowed activities to another role. Denied access has to be configured against each individual role.
Fields	These options enable you to configure access control to specific fields in SYSPRO.

Configure activities	This is enabled when you set the Activity selection to List. The list of Security Fields is displayed, enabling you to configure the level of access the role has to fields within SYSPRO. You can highlight multiple fields using your mouse together with the Ctrl or Shift keys in the Fields list view. Right click to display additional options. Notes and warnings

Copy restrictions

• When using the Copy to Other Roles option for either Activities or Fields, you cannot copy individual disallowed activities, because Allowed always takes precedence over Disallowed.

  Disallowed settings are only copied when you copy an entire configuration.
