Starting

The following configuration options in SYSPRO may affect processing within this program or feature, including whether certain fields and options are accessible.

The Setup Options program lets you configure how SYSPRO behaves across all modules. These settings can affect processing within this program.

Solving

If you use Office 365 credentials to send email using SMTP (using server-side reporting) then you'll need to configure an app password to use when sending email via SMTP. This is because basic authentication is being deprecated by Microsoft.

  1. Microsoft Office 365 configuration:

    1. Sign into the Microsoft Office 365 portal:

      portal.office.com

    2. Select the View Account option or navigate to https://myaccount.microsoft.com/?ref=MeControl

    3. From the Security Info section, select the Update info option.

    4. Select Add sign-in method.

    5. Indicate App password as the method that you want to add.

    6. Select Add to proceed.

    7. Enter the relevant App password name.

    8. Once you have entered the app password name, the Next button becomes enabled.

      Select Next for your app password to be generated.

    9. Copy the generated password for use within SYSPRO to update your Office 365 integration password.

  2. Log into SYSPRO:

    1. Open thePersonal Settings program (SYSPRO Ribbon bar > Home > Personal Settings).

    2. Update the password entry against the Password field of the Office 365 Credentials section with the app password created for the specific Office 365 account.

    3. Save your changes.

You can now use the app password when sending email via SMTP using Office 365 Integration.

Field Description
Office 365 Credentials

The Office 365 settings defined within this program are stored within the system-wide database.

Email option

Select this option to use the default email system.

Select this option to use a Microsoft Office 365 account.

User name

Enter your Microsoft Office 365 user name credentials.

Password

Input your Microsoft Office 365 password credentials.

Tenant to use

Select the tenant that SYSPRO must use when communicating with Microsoft Office 365.

This defaults to the System-wide tenant option which provides default values if you haven't previously configured a specific tenant to use.

Tenant Id

This indicates the Microsoft Office 365 tenant ID for the company.

Client Id

This indicates the Microsoft Office 365 client ID for the company (also known as the Application ID).

Exchange web service

This indicates the URI address to your exchange web service provider.
Company date  
Set company date

You can only edit the company or temporary company date if the following respective options are enabled against your operator code in the Operator Maintenance program:

  • Allowed to change company date

  • Allowed to change temporary company date

New company date

Indicate the new company date to be applied.

Select the Reset hyperlink to clear your saved grid layouts in SYSPRO Web UI (Avanti).
