This program cannot be run standalone and is accessible from within the following program(s):

Starting

You can restrict operator access to activities within a program (configured using the Operator Maintenance program).

You can restrict operator access to the fields within a program (configured using the Operator Maintenance program).

You can restrict access to the eSignature transactions within a program at operator, group, role or company level (configured using the eSignature Setup program). Electronic Signatures provide security access, transaction logging and event triggering that gives you greater control over your system changes.

You can restrict operator access to programs by assigning them to groups and applying access control against the group (configured using the Operator Groups program).

You can restrict operator access to functions within a program using passwords (configured using the Password Definition program). When defined, the password must be entered before you can access the function.

Solving

This functionality is only available from SYSPRO 8 2019 R2 onwards.

  1. Open the Espresso Custom Configuration program (Program List > SYSPRO Espresso).

  2. Select the New option from the toolbar.

    This loads the Custom Configuration Options program.

  3. Under the Configuration options section, define the new custom configuration file level.
  4. Under the Configuration item details section, select the XML parameters option at the Type field.
  5. Enter a Name for the XML configuration.

  6. Using the browse option at the File name field, locate and select the relevant XML file to load.

    Only valid XML files are accepted by the program.

  7. Save your selection.

    The tree viewin the Available Configurations pane is updated automatically and reflects the new configuration.

This functionality is only available from SYSPRO 8 2019 R2 onwards.

You cannot maintain a custom XML configuration file once you have saved it using the Espresso Custom Configuration program.

You have to delete the XML file entry and save a new updated XML custom configuration file.

Item level

Indicate whether the configuration is used by all operators across all companies (system-wide) or for a specific company, role or operator.

If relevant, enter the company, role or operator code in the appropriate field below the Item level.
Configuration item details  
Type

Indicate the type of the configuration item:

Select this to process the transaction using XML.

The schema must be selected in the File name field if this option is selected.

Sample XML files are available in the \Base\Schemas folder of your installation.

  • Only post transaction types can be used.

  • The parameter tag must be present in the XML.

Select this to enter text information in the Data store text field.

Only available from SYSPRO 8 2019 R2.

Select this to load your own custom XML configuration file.

The XML file must be selected in the File name field if this option is selected.
Name Enter a name for the new configuration item.
File name Enter the schema file name and path.
Data store text

Enter any text required in this field.

For example:

Store a connection string to a SQL server, or any third party text.

The maximum length is 600 characters.
