Replace Component Where Used

You use this program to replace stocked and non-stocked components against a selection of non-stocked parent codes used in Estimates.

The replacement(s) can be applied to estimates that are under development, available for use, or both.

Estimate Component Replace Where Used

Field Description
Process Replacement

Select this to replace the existing component with the new valid substitute component with immediate effect.

Multimedia and Custom Form data attached to the current component are copied to the replacement (substitute) component if the replacement component does not already exist on an estimate. If the replacement component already exists and has the same sequence number as the current component, then Multimedia and Custom Form data is retained against the existing component and is not overridden with the data against the replacement component.

If the replacement component already exists on an estimate and it has the same sequence number as the component to replace, then the Structure Already Exists screen is displayed. This screen gives you the option to skip the replacement or to accumulate the quantities.

Parent non-stocked code selection
Non-stocked code selection Indicate the non-stocked parent item(s) you want to include in the replacement process.
List of non-stocked codes Indicate a list of non-stocked parent item(s) you want to include in the replacement process.
Criteria to process Indicate whether replacement(s) can be applied to estimates that are under development, available for use, or both.
Under development Select this to apply the replacement only to estimates that are in a status of Under review.
Available for use Select this to apply the replacement only to estimates that are in a status of Available for use.
Both Select this to apply the replacement to all estimates, irrespective of whether their status is Under review or Available for use.
