You use this program to link any stock code and/or operation attribute to Factory Scheduling (e.g. color, thickness, finish, base material, etc.).
Within Factory Scheduling, you can use these attributes to:
locate and highlight all jobs or operations with a specific attribute
apply a scheduling rule only to jobs (or operations) with a specific attribute
define from-to type setup time matrices (which in turn could be used to apply minimize setup time scheduling rules)
specify the preferred sequences of jobs based on the values of an attribute (available in the Advanced Scheduler)
create complex customized scheduling rules that sequentially apply scheduling logic to selections of jobs based on stock code or operation attributes (available in the Advanced Scheduler)
determine stock codes that can be processed together at a machine based on a common attribute (available in Finite Scheduler and Advanced Scheduler)
Field | Description | ||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Stock Code Attributes | Indicate the attributes you want to link to stock
codes. These attributes can be any of the standard stock code
table fields, or a custom form field defined for the
table.
|
||||
Stock code attribute 1 | Select the first of three attributes you want to link to stock codes. | ||||
Stock code attribute 2 | Select the second of three attributes you want to link to stock codes. | ||||
Stock code attribute 3 | Select the third of three attributes you want to link to stock codes. | ||||
Loading factor | This is used in conjunction with infinite capacity
machines to model oven-type machines. The loading factor
specifies the part of the oven capacity that is consumed by a
single unit of the item. This field applies only to the Finite Scheduler and Advanced Scheduler products. |
||||
Look ahead window | This is used by some of the advanced scheduling rules
to determine whether an operation should be allowed into a
queue for a specific resource. The exact implication of the
look ahead window depends on the scheduling rule used.
This field applies only to the Finite Scheduler and Advanced Scheduler products. |
||||
Operation Attributes | Indicate the attributes that you want to link to
operations. These could be any of the standard fields in the
labor allocations table, or a custom form field defined for
the table.
|
||||
Operation attribute 1 | Select the first of three attributes you want to link to operations. | ||||
Operation attribute 2 | Select the second of three attributes you want to link to operations. | ||||
Operation attribute 3 | Select the third of three attributes you want to link to operations. | ||||
Max operation span | Indicate the maximum span for an operation. This can be
used, for example, where an operation must be completed within
a specified time period to avoid a resin from setting. Once
the operation has been started it must be completed within the
specified time (e.g. it cannot be scheduled to span across an
off-shift weekend period). When you apply a scheduling
algorithm it continues to look for a time where a required
machine is available and the operation can be completed within
the maximum operation span. This field applies only to the Finite Scheduler and Advanced Scheduler products. |
||||
Operation slack | Schedule a period of slack time between operations
(e.g. curing time, or to create a buffer before a bottleneck).
The operation slack time is specified by operation in the Bill
of Materials module, or can be specified for individual
operations against a job in the Work in Progress
module. This field applies only to the Finite Scheduler and Advanced Scheduler products. |
||||
Setup group | Link attributes to products when setup time matrices
are used. The normal stock code attributes are used for
change-over time matrices. Change-over time matrices and setup
time matrices can be configured to run consecutively or in
parallel for a specific machine. This field applies only to the Finite Scheduler and Advanced Scheduler products. |
