Safety Stock Actions

You use this program to print a report identifying changes that need to be made to the live safety stock levels so that they match the safety stock levels within the snapshot files after adjustment by the planner.

The safety stock indicated within the snapshot files is generated by the Requirements Calculation program and may be altered afterwards using the Pegging function of the Requirements Planning Query program.

Report Details

The program compares the stock code/warehouse safety stock levels residing within the snapshot files to those residing within the live files and reports on the differences. The latest requirements calculation date is printed on each report.

The suggested changes to the live files are indicated by the following action messages:

  • Increase safety stock (where the snapshot safety stock level exceeds the live safety stock level).

  • Decrease safety stock (where the snapshot safety stock level is less than the live safety stock level).

These changes may be applied to the live files using the Inventory Warehouse Maintenance for Stock Code program.
