New Espresso Application

Create a new Espresso application for an operator, role, company or system-wide from within SYSPRO.

This window is opened when you select the New option in the Espresso Application Builder program. It is also opened when you select the Copy application option, which allows you to select the application to be copied.

New application

Blank application

Create a blank application and add the components to the new application.

Once the application is created, use the Espresso Design Menus program to add it to the Espresso menu.
Existing application

Create a new application based on a SYSPRO shipped application.

This will copy all the application information such as the caption, style and primary key field.

No components are copied to the new application.

Once the application is created, use the Espresso Design Menus program to add it to the Espresso menu.
Application Select the application whose details you want to copy to the new application.
Application details  
Caption Enter a title for the application.
Style Choose if the application is to be a display or entry application.
Use splitview

Select the type of display you require.

  • Never - the application will be displayed as normal (without a splitview)

  • Tablet only - the application will be displayed for a tablet

  • Dynamic - the application will be displayed in a splitview style on tablets and desktops, and as normal on all other devices

  • Always - the application will be displayed in a splitview style.
Key field required

Select if a primary key is required for the application.

Primary key field The name of the key field, if selected above.
Editing application to use Enter the program to be called from the button below.
Button caption Enter the text to appear on the Change button, if using this functionality.
Save as  
Level Select if the application is to be created for system-wide use, for a company, role or operator.
Company If the Company level is selected, enter the company for whom the application is to be used.
Role If the Role level is selected, enter the role for whom the application is to be used.
Operator If the Operator level is selected, enter the operator for whom the application is to be used.
Device Select the device on which the application is to be used.

Copy application

Application layout Indicates the layout of the application from which you are copying.

Select the level to which the application must be copied.
Target company

If the Company level is selected, enter the company for whom the application is to be copied.
Target role

If the Role level is selected, enter the role for whom the application is to be copied.
Target operator

If the Operator level is selected, enter the operator for whom the application is to be copied.

Target layout

Select the device on which the application is to be used.
