ABC Recoveries Estimate Report

You use this program to produce a what-if report of the estimated ABC recoveries based on the elements held against the stock item entered and the quantities of the product specified.

You typically use this program to access the units likely to be recovered as a basis for rate setting, as well as to estimate appropriate recovery rates per element.

Multi Select this to print recovery details accumulated from all levels of a structure that are detected in the import file

ABC Recoveries Estimate Stock Codes

Field Description
Stock code selection Select this to open the ABC Stock Code Selection window from where you can select the stock codes required.
Stock code Indicate the stock code you want to add to the list.
Routing Indicate the route for which to print overhead recovery costs against an item. This enables you to establish the recovery costs of an item for a number of different routes.

This is only relevant when the Alternate routings option is enabled (Bill of Materials Setup).

Revision Indicates the revision of an ECC-controlled stock code you want to add to the list.
Release Indicates the release of an ECC-controlled stock code you want to add to the list.
Quantity Enter the quantity of the stock item for which you want to generate a report estimating the expected overhead recoveries.

ABC Stock Code Selection

Field Description
OK Load the stock codes in the ABC Recoveries Estimate Stock Codes pane as per your selection.

Stock code selection The following options enable you to specify which items from a selection you want to include.

AllSelect this to include all the stock codes from the selection.
RangeSelect this to indicate a range of stock codes from the selection to include.

You indicate this range using the From stock code and To stock code fields.

SingleSelect this to indicate a single stock code from the selection to include in the From stock code field.
ListSelect this to indicate a list of stock codes from the selection to include.

You use the Define list option to indicate the list of items to include in the selection at the List of stock codes field.

ImportSelect this to import a file containing a list of stock codes and quantities.
From stock code Enter the first item in the range of the selected stock codes to include.

If you indicated that you want to include only a single item from the selection, then you use this field to enter that item.

To stock code Enter the last item in the range of the selected item to include.

This field is only enabled if you selected the Range option.

List of stock codes Select the Define list hyperlink to create a list of stock codes from which to generate the report.

It is important that you enter stock codes and quantities expected from each batch of a product, otherwise single and batch type elements will not be sufficiently represented.

File name Indicate the name of a user-defined import file from which you want to generate the report.

This file must contain a list of stock codes and quantities entered at specific field positions.

This function is particularly useful if you want to run the report a number of times without having to enter a long list of stock codes each time. You need to select the Import option to enable this field.

ABC Recoveries Estimate Reports

You can view the summary and detail report details.

The accumulation of the driver quantity is dependent on the route selection against the element structure (see Browse on Element Structures).

The scrap quantity per defined against each component is elevated by the progressive scrap percentage/amount before it is multiplied by the driver quantity of each element defined.

Notes and warnings

Program access

  • You cannot access this program when the Activity based costing required option is set to No ( Bill of Materials Setup).

Hints and tips

  • A user-defined import file (containing valid stock codes and quantities) can be used if you require the report to be run a number of times and you do not want to re-enter the list of stock codes each time.
